It started a couple years ago when the chanting of Africa echoed in her heart.
Today, my friend will board the first of many planes that will escort her from her Canadian land to make footprints in Mozambique dust. Crossing from one culture to the next.
She is living out her story. This specific journey has been written out with love, for her.
I wonder what this country will do to her.
How will it change her {because it will}? Will it feel like the home she's been longing for? What experience will God give, that she'll nurture in heart-womb until ready for birth?
My one request, friend... please bring back the heart of Africa and let it beat here, with us.

Sustain her, Lord Jesus! In every circumstance build her faith.
I trust you God. I trust that you'll be holding her hand, although I wish I could. I trust you'll guide her steps through foothills and service, teaching her that bowing low helps one stand strong. Keep her steps in tune with your moving. Awakening her spirit to rejoice in counting each moment and finding the thin places of heaven. Give her your eyes to see the hidden glories. To see vibrant life in the wrinkle-worn eyes. To see hope in the deeply scarred-heart. May she call on you for all her needs, singing Yahweh!

Love hearing stories of people like her!

ReplyDeleteMy sister's heart is in Africa and after many years of longing, she and her family will soon be ministering there as well as adopting from there! Your prayer is beautiful and I will join you in praying. Also, you have a beautiful gift of words and you bless me with them! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I know it will be difficult, but with the difficulty will come blessing and growth of faith. What an exciting adventure it will be! I am so glad she has a great friend like you praying with her.
