A time to Be Reminded...

"Look at this one Mom, isn't it pretty?" little girl palm faces toward heaven, in it lays a stone. "It's for you. Keep it." she tells me.
And so, I do. Dropping it in my ivory coat pocket to find it's new home.

It's been several months since I've worn or washed that coat.
Contents still remaining, tucked in corners with lint and an old grocery list.

Until yesterday.

With a heart full of fear-jitters and His beckoning to trust His leading.
I walked with head and heart hung low under the black morning sky, light snow falling white.
I slid hands into warm coat pockets, fumbling numb.

I touched rounded corners, smooth.
My fingers white-knuckle this pebble-gift. Small rock remembrance, that "facing the giants" doesn't require more then a seed of faith, in Him. And it's okay to do this afraid.

In these hallow spaces, I know I must confront opposition alone, with tiny rock reminders.

Our greatest triumphs are always our most solitary ones, the ones that He alone sees, the ones alone in His Presence, and every great victory begins on the knees.
~ Ann Voskamp

Solitary. Triumphs. Await.
Ready knees? Aim.

And in more ways then one, I agree "Yes, this is a pretty stone."
